Many commercial laundries in the healthcare industry are now saying that they offer services that can get laundry “hygienically clean.” When you hear that phrase, you might think it sounds sufficient for your infection prevention plans, but what does it actually mean? We encourage you to take a closer look.
The problem with the “hygienically clean” definition is its imprecision. The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation defines “hygienically clean” as “free from pathogens in sufficient numbers to cause human illness.” That might sound all fine and dandy, but the words “in sufficient numbers” throw us off. That means the product has been cleaned to remove most of the pathogens, but the term doesn’t exactly define to what extent. That’s not enough for us at ImageFIRST.
We remain wary of the ambiguous “hygienically clean” claim. There’s no clear definition of the phrase, so how can it be measured? This is one of the reasons why we take pride in being more than just “hygienically clean.”
At ImageFIRST Denver, we provide comfortable and attractive healthcare linen, scrubs, and medical uniforms in Pueblo, CO, as well as the surrounding areas, including Denver. We’re dedicated to protecting our customers’ brands, as well as their patients and staff. Being better than hygienically clean is important to us, and our Triple BioShield Protection® process keep textiles safer before and after pathogens are introduced.
How do we make sure they’re more than hygienically clean?
One of the best ways to make sure linens, including our scrub uniforms in Pueblo, CO, and other local areas, are more than just hygienically clean is to use EPA-registered products introduced by Ecolab. Their EPA-registered products sanitize linens so that 99.9% of pathogens are eliminated. A sanitizing wash is just one part of our Triple BioShield Protection® process, which also includes an antibacterial coating for all textiles and plastic barriers so that textiles aren’t contaminated during transport.
At ImageFIRST, we set higher standards as a laundry provider that services healthcare facilities. It’s our duty to make sure linens are clean, and patients and staff are safe. We’ll ensure that your patients and staff look good and feel good while remaining protected.
